Mosquito Ringtones

What is a Mosquito Ringtone? Mosquito ringtone is one of the most successful ringtones created in the last years. They are based on the fact that when humans are getting older they lose the ability to hear some high frequency sounds. The real reason for the disability of the older to hear these sounds lies on the fact that while growing older, the inner ear and ear drum is getting less flexible and active so it can't receive the high frequency vibrations of a high pitched sound.

Mosquito ringtones can be useful in many ways. The students can use these high pitched ringtones, while their teachers won't be able to hear them. So, a mosquito ringtone can be used in order for a student to receive an sms message or a phone call that the teacher won't hear. Maybe this will be the solution to the problem of banning cell phones in school.

Here there is another way of using Mosquito ringtones: British shopkeepers had an idea to repel teenage loiterers. They used a mosquito technique which emits some annoying high pitch sounds that most teenagers can hear but no adults. So these sounds repel the annoying teenagers. This is a good example how the some "weapon" can be used from teenagers and adults.

The inventor of Mosquito teenager repellent is Howard Stapleton. Howard says that only a few people over age 30 can hear the Mosquito's sound. The first ultrasonic/ mosquito ringtones were developed by kids/students and their thought came from the teen repellent devices of Stapleton. The mosquito ringtones are also called Teen Buzz or Mosquitone. The frequency of these ringtones is 17 KHz.
